SUMMARY

1

31

Alex James

2B

18

HS

$1,190K

ML LF

Solid power and speed prospect, he has below average makeup but is young, He is going to take his time in the Minor Leagues and still may never reach his potential. If he does he will offer Massa a solid everyday bat.

1

32

Hector Purcell

2B

19

JC

$1,100K

ML RF

Similar to James, but without the speed, he does have a good bat and can play in Right or Left field everyday without issue.

1

42

Jose Barrios

3B

18

HS

$640K

AAA

Better suited fort the Outfield with his glove, he a slightly better than average hitter with good speed, but below average base running. Poor makeup and batting eye will doom him to a minor league career

1

59

Odalis Quintero

CF

18

HS

$600K

4A

Good defender with great speed, that will be enough to get him in the Majors for some time. He has decent power but will not bat for a great average in his career. I'm not sure if he can overcome his poor makeup though.

2

93

Stan Hudler

P

22

COL

$550K

4A

Perfect AAA Arm, he has decent stamina and his durability will make him a solid every 5 day starter, his average splits will keep him out of the majors though.

2

95

Dale Malone

RF

20

JC

$550K

4A

Contact hitting speed demon, he has average splits and is solid on the base paths. Not enough defense to allow him to stick anywhere for long.

3

128

Enrique Estrella

2B

22

COL

$425K

AAA

Below average bat and average speed will limit his impact outside of AAA

4

160

Douglas DiFelice

P

22

COL

$350K

ML RP

Solid 3 pitch reliever with good splits and solid durability and stamina. Could be 4th round gold if he makes his projections.

5

192

Bump Perry

1B

21

COL

---

AAA

Solid to average hitter, might be better suited to be removed from the field all together, but could play 1st for a stint. Doesn't offer much for a ML team

SUMMARY: Picked up a few pure hitters at the top of the draft, but no real positional impact on the field. With 4 1st round picks you hope for better than 50% of them making the Majors Difelice is a fine addition in the 4th round, but they had to hope to land at least 1 more solid arm.

SUMMARY

1

11

Steven Adcock

P

18

HS

$2,700K

ML All Star SP

With the 11th pick Adcock is an ace. He has 4 great pitches, good splits, control and stamina. He isn't going to strikeout many but he keeps the ball down and induce a lot of ground outs, nice when you have a good defense behind the pitcher.

1

36

Vince Maxwell

2B

20

JC

$820K

4A

Below average I the field, he will need to be hit in the outfield. He has some pop in his bat and good batting splits. Other than that he is just above average enough to get in the major leagues, but so ordinary that he might just disappear.

2

75

Pablo Moreno

LF

22

COL

$500K

4A

Average hitter with good batting eye and a mixed set of splits, he doesn't offer enough on defense to account for his lack of an exceptional bat.

2

79

Alex Mayne

SS

20

JC

$515K

4A

Defense and speedster with a very poor bat. A team who needs a good glove would find Mavne a good addition as a late inning guy.

3

108

Ronnie Banks

P

20

JC

$390K

4A

Average splits on an over all average pitcher, he will have good success in the minors , but don't look for him to get a long look at the ML level.

4

140

Izzy Morgan

SS

22

COL

$320K

AAA

Even at 3B he doesn't offer enough defense to cover is average offense. Destine to sizzle in AAA for a career

5

172

Jim Beverlin

RF

19

JC

$225K

AAA

He might struggle to get out of AA in 5 seasons.

SUMMARY: After Adcock, Minnesota had to hope for at least one more good ML'er to take home instead they might have just draft a class of want to be. And never going to be's

SUMMARY

1

39

Tex Nelson

P

18

HS

$760K

ML RP

Nelson has the potential to be a solid Relief pitcher in the ML. He also has average makeup which is a killing attribute for all relievers. With out the ability to pitch enough innings his progress will be slow, the Good news is he's 18 and should get a good chance to have that time he needs.

1

44

Michael Brea

CF

18

HS

---

4A

Weak hitting prospect, he might be solid at 2B, his speed should get him a few looks to the majors, I'm not sure that he will get much chance to stick.

2

69

Milton Lanier

P

20

JC

$550K

4A

He lacks the control to be a dependable reliever, he also lacks the durability to be counted on for extended use. He does have the good splits and 3 solid pitches to give him a twinkling of hope

2

87

Pablo Olivo

C

18

HS

$550K

ML Backup

Classic defensive catcher, he is not going to provide the spark that will ignite the rally, but he won't hurt you to much at the plate,. He does offer the good defense that teams like from their backstops.

3

101

Les Clark

SS

19

JC

$425K

AAA

Average in the field and at the plate, not enough on the base paths to allow him to long of a ML look.

3

120

T.J. Morton

CF

18

HS

$425K

4A

He has good contact and speed, but can't figure of right handed pitching and has no power to speed of. He is a mixed bag, but a solid 3rd round project.

4

152

Daniel Baez

CF

19

JC

$350K

AAA

He can run, but not much at the plate. Look for him to show flashes in the minors to why he was drafted but strike out in the Majors.

5

184

Hiram Lazzeri

P

19

JC

$250K

AAA

Minor League pitching prospect written all over him and his poor splits

SUMMARY: Nelson wasa reach in the 1st round, but maybe in another draft position #39 is the 2nd round. NY did not get a lot of pieces to help build their team or fill in holes, Olivo won't start but should be a fine ML'er Nelson and Lanier both hae potential for the bullpen, but can't be counted on. This is draft in 5 years it would be interesting to see where they all ended up.

SUMMARY

1

58

Donnie Coppolecchia

P

18

HS

$600K

ML Bottom of the rotation.

Solid pick late in the 1st round. He has average splits and below average control, but with 4 nice pitches and killer velocity, he has good potential to stick with a team when he does develop.,

64

Victor Garces

P

22

COL

$600K

ML Long Relief

Spot start or long reliever roles best suit him, he has the appropriate splits and solid control to make his ML dreams a reality. At 22 he is already pretty well developed and should make his impact sooner than later.

3

126

Bubba Breslow

P

20

JC

$425K

AAA

Great velocity and 3 stud pitches, but lacks the ability to control the ball enough to be effective outside of the minors.

4

158

Willie Cashman

P

22

COL

$350K

ML RP

Better than Breslow, but still lacks good control, he is a strike out machine with his 3 laser pitches and solid splits. I might give him a shot In the league

5

190

Josh Speier

P

18

HS

$250K

AAA

Low Stamina and average splits will limit him to a minor league career, but he might be a well respected minor leaguer for a few seasons.

SUMMARY: Without a true 1st round pick, Toledo went for the gusto and cherrypicked the best available pitching in each round with his picks. Breslow and cashman are wild cards but worth the risk in their respective rounbds if they can get DITR on control. Look for a few of thes guys to be ML regulars which is saying a lot when your 1st pick isn't until #58
