Draft needs: BEST AVAILABLE

	1	32	Kenneth Springer	1B	18	$1,100K	Offensive minded 1B. He has the power to knock 40 out consistently, he does not run the bases or bunt well, but when was the last time you saw Prince Fielder bunt?
	2	75	Tex Bay	C	18	$550K	Offensive minded catcher. He will not call the best pitches, but he makes up for it with his bat. He has an average arm behind the dish and should keep all but the true base stealers in check.
	3	107	Seth McCovey	SS	22	$425K	Defensively he will struggle at Short, and offensively he would not provide the needed offense at 3B or in the outfield. He is an average hitter with below average right/left splits
	4	139	Donovan McConnell	CF	20	$350K	Has good speed and contact, but defensively he is better suited for the corner of the outfield. Even with his above average eye his splits will make him a hard call for the ML
	5	171	Yorrick Pendleton	CF	19	$250K	Light hitting center fielder. He has burner like speed with good base running. If he gets on base he will steal with ease.

 

Summary: Added much needed firepower, with their first 2 picks, but defensively they did little to improve the team further. I'm sure many of those players will be trade bait for someone else. The Burros's Farm is pretty stacked.

Hartford T Ball

Draft needs: CF, SP, RP

	1	14	Javier Martin	SS	20	UNKNOWN. NO INFO
	2	57	Gary Osik	P	20	4 pitches and good stamina, but poor control. He will walk a lot of batters and not strikeout many. He has good splits and could make the majors soon as he is quite polished.
	3	89	Torey Matos	RP	19	Pitches with low control have had limited success everywhere. He does have good splits when he does get it over the plate; His pitches aren't too bad either.
	4	121	Clinton Allen	SS	19	NO INFO
	5	153	Anthony Lidge	P	20	Good control and stamina, but his right/left split dictate his career as a minor leaguer for life

 

SUMMARY: Took a lot of pitches with low control, a risky move but most are ML caliber. They have yet to sign their first pick and I have no info on him so I will not grade their draft at this time.

Atlanta Braves
Draft needs: 3B, SP, CF

	1	6	Joel Byrne	RP	20	$3,540K	Super-star reliever with 2 good pitches excellent control and good durability. His plus splits will make him highly effective.
	2	49	Dude Simas	P	22	$550K	Pinpoint control make him ubber prospect. His control and stamina with 1 good pitch and 3 averages are a good start, but his right/left splits are below average this makes him a hard choice for big games.
	3	81	J.R. Blauser	RP	20	$425K	Good control and above average splits, match well with his strikeout potential. He does not have one dominant pitch.
	4	113	Richard Saipe	P	18	$350K	Below average control and splits will make it hard for him to stick in the majors but he does have 2 good pitches
	5	145	Brent Gregg	P	20	$250K	1 plus pitch career minor leaguer

SUMMARY:

Pitching can always be used on any team, and Atlanta made sure they had some. They missed the boat on getting a decent 3B or CF to develop.

Cleveland Wild Dogs Draft needs: SP, C, 2B

	1	1	Vic Castilla	2B	18	HS	Dominant hitter and runner he has 50+ sb potential along with 40+ homerun power. He has a good chance to be a perennial all-star. He does give signing issues.
	2	44	Victor Sierra	P	18	HS	Bad splits overwhelm Sierras good control and stamina. He really only has 1 pitch worth anything. Major reach in the 2nd round.
	3	76	Bryant Bradshaw	P	20	JC	Has potential to be a 4A type pitcher he has below average splits and only 1 above average pitch. He probably is not going to do much.
	4	108	B.J. Young	P	21	COL	1 good pitch and a lot of fluff to go with poor splits. If he signs he is not going to make it far up the ladder.
	5	140	Armando Campos	P	18	HS	NO INFO

Summary: Castilla was the only pick worth anything from this draft board. As number 1 pick would you accept less, but Cleveland is making no attempt to sign anyone. That would be devastating to this franchise.

Grade: B- cause Castilla is that good
