SUMMARY

1

20

William Gibson

P

19

JC

$2,220K

ML #3 SP

Good development for a 19 year old. He has 2 pitches and above average splits and great control. Might struggle versus left handed bats but should be fine enough to make the ML.

2

84

Felipe Neruda

CF

22

COL

$550K

4A

Average hitter above average runner and fielder. He could overcome his lowly bat by make a living running and fielding at 2B.

3

117

Juan Mujica

P

18

HS

$425K

ML RP

Solid strikeout pitcher, He has 2 ace quality pitches and good durability and stamina for a releaver. His below average control will make him have up and down years but he should still get a good look in the ML.

4

149

Ramiro Sojo

SS

22

COL

$350K

AA

Poor ss fielder, might get away with him in the corner outfield, but not in a key defensive placement. He has almost no bat but does have a solid set of wheels.

5

181

Jim Kendall

P

22

COL

---

AAA

Wild thing, he has all the tool except the ability to control his pitches.

SUMMARY: Burlington might have a hard time proving Gibson has the best pitcher available with the 20th pick, He does fill a need though he is not going to be the top of the rotation guy the team might have hoped for. I rest of the draft board just did not develop for the Ice Storm

SUMMARY

1

2

Todd Olerud

P

18

HS

---

ML ACE

Well developed 18 year old, his a killer changeup and 3 additional pitches to lean on. Solid splits and good control. He has huge potential.

2

66

Al Knight

P

21

COL

$550K

ML SETUP

Good durability/ stamina for a reliever he might be able log almost 150+ innings. His pitch selection is not ideal but still is above average, might not be an all-star every year but should have a solid career.

3

98

Zoltan Volstad

RF

18

HS

$425K

AA

All power right hand slammer. He will have no batting average. Think Rob Deer.

4

131

Dennis Sullivan

P

21

COL

---

AAA

Does not have anything special about him, below average or average across the board.

5

163

Rob Price

CF

20

JC

$250K

AA

Speed is good, but does run the bases well enough to take full advantage. He does have apoor bat to further cripple his ML dreams

SUMMARY: With the #2 pick they cleaned up with the best overall pitching prospect in the Draft. He might wiz through the minors under the right conditions and be anchoring the staff soon. Knight could be equally as good. The rest oft the draft just did not matter

Projection

SUMMARY

1

3

Bonk White

3B

18

HS

---

ML

I'm on the fence with Bonk, he projects well as a corner OF or a weak 3B, he definitely can hit at a ML clip, but his biggest asset might be his speed which is neutralized by his poor base running. His makeup also says he his struggle to ever see those projections.

1

47

Jeremi Bowen

2B

20

JC

$600K

4A

Great field with speed but a overall poor hitter with average base running. He might get a cup of coffee down the road.

1

61

David Wright

CF

18

HS

$600K

4A CF

Another solid fielder with speed, has contact but poor splits. He will have a limited Ml career.

3

99

B.C. Estrella

2B

19

JC

$425K

4A 2B

He will strike out more than a normal player, but does have power and average splits. He is not going to light the league up but might be an injury option for a team in need

4

132

Walt Green

SS

21

COL

$1,190K

4A 3B

Solid prospect for the 4th round he has good splits, some power and average stats across the board

5

164

Glenallen Ducati

1B

18

HS

$250K

AA

Dot much of a prospect her has a little bat but no fielding and no speed, his splits and average eye will not make him a good DH candidate.

SUMMARY: I think a lot of teams either had Bonk White ranked high on thir boards or dropped him down. He is the type of player you love for his good qualities and ignore the bad things or someone you are just afraid to invest heavy on and be let down. I think Durham is in for a left down. With the 3rd pick they could have gotten so much more in a overall package. Now watch White crush me for the next 10 seasons.

Potential

SUMMARY

1

16

Lee Liverman

RF

21

COL

$2,600K

ML 1B

Lee has he potential to be the best hitter in the draft, he will struggle some against left hander. He will also not win to many gold gloves in the outfield. 1b MIGHT BE HIS HOME. Also he's already 21 and has a 0 makeup. He might only look good on paper never on the field

1

52

Willis White

P

18

HS

---

NOT SCOUTED

1

63

Butch Clapp

P

18

HS

$600K

AAA

He might be able to slip into the league but his average splits and lack of stamina will limit his role. He does have ML quality control and 2 solid pitches.

4

145

Louis Broome

P

19

JC

$350K

4A

Weak against left handed batters but overall he should pitch for someone. He is a good find in the 4th round. 4 pitches and good inning eating stamina. In the very least he's a minor league gold pitcher on a fatigued staff.

5

177

Lazy Ross

P

21

COL

---

AAA

Poor splits and an 8M demand. He's not going to sign or be signed

SUMMARY: Liverman has no makeup no desire to get better. That is a very scary proposition in a potentially great player. You have to hope he develops in some way to near those great projections if you want this draft to be a success. I wouldn't bank on that
