4	153	Douglas Simon	SS	22	COL	MILB	$350K	he can run but not going to get that opportunity outside of the minor leagues
5	185	Robinzon Alomar	3B	20	JC	MILB	$250K	Has power and a solid fielding and bat, might be a surprise in a few seasons.

Summary: Hard draft fir the Bombers, they missed a surefire guy at almost every level. King will be great in the field, but not the offensive threat the Al requires right now. We will see if the Bombers have the patience to deal with a defensive only guy at SS.

Madison Massa's Needs from the draft: C, 2B, SP

3	119	Mike Williamson	CF	20	JC	MILB	$425K	Fits well in this round great speed and decent contact his good right hand split but no power to speak of.
4	152	Ralph Garland	RF	18	HS	---	---	All power and no contact. A modern day Rob Deer.
5	184	Jade Scalici	RP	18	HS	MILB	$250K	no control and poor durability will make it hard to break into the Massa bullpen

Summary: Seneca is probable not the kind of guy who excels in the Massa's system, but he is a decent prospect for someone who loves speed. Bennett should take his knocks in the majors but he deserves to be there. Solid but unspectacular draft for Madison

5	186	Milton Clark	C	18	HS	MILB	$250K	best defensive catcher in the draft, worst hitting catcher as well

Summary: if they sign Romero, they got what they desperately needed. Miller is a decent option in the meantime. They did the best with the picks they had

1	7	Hector Pascual	CF	21	COL	MILB w/STI	$3,350K	Huge misstep with this pick, Pascual can field with the best of them, but is well below ML quality hitting.
1	23	Rip Harper	C	21	COL	MILB w/STI	$1,880K	Half time starter at C. He lacks the stamina to work more than 350 abs in the majors. His bat is all aces with solid power and splits. He will not be able to handle pitching that is below average.
1	38	Jorel Mathews	SP	22	COL	MILB w/STI	$760K	Solid 4 pitch starter, he is a great middle of the rotation guy who lacks the strikeout power, but has the knack to get the outs. He is the kind of journeyman we all like comes cheap and fills the everyday holes.
2	62	Michael Wagner	C	22	COL	MILB	$550K	Below average catcher above average DH. He has poor makeup and might never be what he is projected to be.
3	95	Jim Gagnon	RP	21	COL	MILB	$425K	Awesome reliever who gets a lot of fly outs, he has a lot of balls in play as well. His durability is not ideal.
4	128	Jared Shermann	SS	21	COL	MILB	$350K	No power but good contact and a decent left hand split and killer defense. He is the kind of guy who sneaks in the majors as a defensively guru and stays for a decent career as a defensive replacement
5	160	L.J. McCallum	2B	19	JC	MILB	$250K	decent runner and a below average hitter

Summary: 4 1^st round picks came in handy to ensure they are able to fill a few holes. If they invest in coaching and take their time they have an ace in Lankford to build around. Harper will be good if tandem with a capable defender.

3	109	Lucas Hansen	SP	22	COL	MILB	$425K	3 pitches solid control and stamina and decent durability should allow Hansen a solid ML career through arbitration.
4	142	J.P. Perez	SP	22	COL	MILB	$350K	poor splits and 2 solid pitches his limits him to a AA career
5	174	Richie Eyre	SS	18	HS	---	---	not enough there to make him worth the bag of balls I'd have to trade for him

Summary: first 3 picks are solid contributors and fit the organizations needs. Duran would be the bullpen ace the team needs to maintain their stay on the top of the division.

Summary: Bennett has value and could fill the need at 1B, but the draft did not go very deep for the Bulls, they picked a few defensive options but no one that's going to make much impact for demand much attention.

3	106	Don Sele	CF	20	JC	---	---	Not a cf or a 2B defense is pretty week; he has speed to offer and a lack of power.
3	116	David Balboa	3B	20	JC	---	---	All or nothing power, decent splits and a good fielder could be the best pick in the 3rd round
4	149	Mateo Olivo	P	18	HS	---	---	NOT SCOUTED
5	181	Randall King	2B	20	JC	---	---	speed and contact seems to be the theme of the whole draft, nice t see you can still get it at the end of the 5th round

Summary: Wagner is probably to flawed to consider him an upgrade at CF for Hartford. Cook will give a team a bunch of scary innings but even with his low control should be given a shot in the rotation for the future. Puffer is the best value pick for the Ascension

2	70	Tomas Rivas	RP	19	JC	---	---	The only thing keeping Tomas from being a 1st round pick as a reliever is his below average durability. Otherwise 2 good pitches solid control and plus splits.
2	74	Earl Scott	RP	18	HS	---	---	3 pitch reliever with great control and poor right handed splits. Someone will give him a shot in the future
3	102	Wladimir Pascual	SP	21	COL	---	---	missing a solid vs. righty split, but everything else is in place to offer a solid Ml'er
3	125	John Evans	SP	19	JC	---	---	DITR on his splits and he's as ace, without it's a minor leaguer for life
4	135	Sam Merloni	SP	22	COL	---	---	solid bottom of the rotation starter, he is a grinder and a gem in round 4
5	167	Tito Hundley	SP	18	HS	---	---	Needs to learn to pitch can't effectively get righties or lefties out.

 

Summary: missed the boat on almost every pick, Berroa is a huge reach with the 12^th pick and a waste of a high draft pick; he might have fallen to Washington again at 40. They need to hope for a bunch of DITR adjustments to salvage these drafts.

POWER RANKING Ryan Week 3

1. Wichita (1) - A need for Speed them have been caught stealing more time (32) then 15 teams have actually attempted to steal a base.
   
2. Madison(3)- 20-3 on the road makes them the best road team in the league
   
3. New York (NL) (2) - Perry and Seguignol are 1 and 2 in League Strikeouts.
   
4. Colorado Springs (4) Behind NY they could have the best pitching available top to bottom.
   
5. Iowa City (10) - I'm not sure how IC is doing it, they ain't this good, but yet here they are.
   
6. Columbus (5)- top of the league at each level of baseball LoA to ML.
   
7. Memphis (12) - Hard work rebuilding has paid dividends, they should be playoff bound without issue.
   
8. San Diego(6)- CL Felipe Liriano has blown nearly half his save opportunities in S14 (9/16)
   
9. Toledo (8) - in the midst of a 10 game winning streak they trade away their starting Shortstop, will might pull the plug on s14.
   
10. New York(AL) (11)- NY is sizzling on the back burner, look for them to start climbing this week as they start to hit on all cylinders
    
11. Santa Fe (7)- Matt Shave could be on pace for the 1^st triple crown in AL History batting .391(2^nd) with 23(1^st) hr and 67(1^st) RBI
    
12. Philadelphia (17) - regrouped after a pair of bad season, they could challenge for the division this season, which would shock the NL.
    
13. Oklahoma City (14) - Playing on a hope and a prayer. OC is NOT LEGIT. Prove it next week against Columbus and I might be more of a believer.
    
14. Burlington (15) - OF Fergie Ryan is an outside contender for ROY, he should get 50 bags swiped with 10hrs this season at his pace.
    
15. Washington D.C.(21)- On top of their division, but I'm still hesitant to call them for real, they show me something in 7 games against IC this week and then I will adjust them.
    
16. Las Vegas (19) - they move up only because Kc and Florida are doing that bad.
    
17. Kansas City (9) - How much is David Seanez worth to this team. Record with David Seanez 18-13 without 3-11
    
18. Louisville(16)- C Rolando Jame's Value can get no higher than right now with 17hr
    
19. Florida (13) - 3 huge injuries SS Tom Randolph, and 2B Jumbo Tavarez will be hard to overcome in the infield.
    
20. Pittsburgh (28) - 52 Ground ball double play outs lead the pitching for the league.
    
21. Fargo(24)- This team is sneak good, they will continue to climb the latter of Power each week, but being in a tough division might keep them out of the playoffs.
    
22. Cheyenne (18) - I saw a fall for CHY, but not to this extent, they should rebound some, but might be too late for Playoff hopes.
    
23. Colorado(20)- 42 Infield Hits this is not the Mile High Club of old
    
24. Cincinnati (23)-5 quality starts out of 45 says a lot when your ace is Clarence Patrick one of the best pitchers in the league.
    
25. Baltimore(26)- SP Hector Tarasco is an early front runner for Rookie Honors, leading the league in CG Shutouts and pitching well above his head.
    
26. Monterrey(30)- Doing all the right things on a pitching poor team, just need to ride this season out and look to the draft.
    
27. Vancouver(27)- . LF Al Crespo is batting under the Mendoza for the season, not the best way to start a rookie campaign
    
28. Milwaukee(25)- Best 0-8 Starter in the League, SP Hideo Tamura
    
    
29. Atlanta (31)- They have Eugene Walker hitting…. But little else to speak of
    
30. Durham(29)- still not been in a playoff hunt as a GM tied for the longest streak in the League with ATL and WAS
    
31. St. Louis (32) - a WHIP over 2 is usually a good indicator the pitching just isn't cutting it.
    
32. Hartford (22)- Could be so much better than this, an abandoned team looking for an owner

POWER RANKING Ryan Week 2

1. Wichita(1)- The groundball is their friend they lead the league in Double plays by twice the league average.

2. New York(NL) (3)- 1.50 Team Pitching ERA .180 Opposing team BA

3. Madison(4)- leads the league in strikeouts with 137, even I said WHAT! And had to look again.

4. Colorado Springs(2) After a down season RF Jesse Walton is back on pace to hit over 40 bombs this season. They are testing for steroids, right?

5. Columbus (7)- this teams direction was corrected last season, but with this season's additions they are even better, they should continue to have strong weeks barring injury.

6. San Diego(12)- Pitching is carrying this team all the way to the bank, Even without Michael foster who is on some endless rehab assignment. The problem lies in the hitting which still needs to get started, the pitching cannot be expected to hold for ever.

7. Santa Fe (8)- as a team they are batting a sizzling .372 with a .453 OBS. That's kind of scary. Obviously they have not been tested for Steroids yet this season.

8. Toledo(5)- RP Luis Carrasco has never been dominant in the bullpen but he is getting lit this season.

9. Kansas City(9)- David Seanez is starting to show his age as SS, his bat is still his feature but his glove is starting to cost them.

10. Iowa City(13)- SP Charlie Johnson was brought in to be the ace of the staff and has performed well, but needs to cut down his walks to continue being effective over the season.

11. New York(AL) (6)- SS Geraldo Tarraga is beyond a golden glover for New York. He is eating up anything his way and leading the league in plus plays.

12. Memphis (14)- Johnny Powell, Wascar Martin and Elis Borland all should be counted on strongly this season and all have performed well below expectations, yet the team has been able to muster a good record against solid opponents. Look for those players to perform and this team to continue to rise.

13. Florida(10)- Struggling to find there groove and actively shopping their closer to get younger. Team might already be looking to close the books on s14.

14. Oklahoma City(21)- Rookie SP Bruce Harvey is pitching light years ahead of his skill level, look for him to fall from grace very quickly..

15. Burlington(18)- Hot Starting C Julian Haynes is batting almost .500 for the short season. This has contributed heavily to the strong start for Burlington this season.

16. Louisville(23)- RP Steve Daniels should not be in the ML, his 14.8 era illustrates why he should not be in the ML.

17. Philadelphia(16)- the team is hovering around .500 without 1B Dmitri Miller's bat waking up yet this season

18. Cheyenne(15)- Chris Durbin already on pace for another 100+ Stolen Bases

19. Las Vegas(24)- already involved in 7 1 run games and 3 extra inning games in this young season.

20. Colorado(17)- Terry White and Jim Walker combine for 20 Stolen Bases more than the Mile Highers stole for the first 6 years of the franchise history combined.

21. Washington D.C.(29)- Craig Cooper who? Josh Vitiello has the fans cheering in DC again this season as he has been an everyday threat at the plate.

22. Hartford (11)- cartoonish 13.70 ERA pitching isn't really this bad, the end of the Steriod era don't seem to have helped though.

23. Cincinnati(19)- Pitch counts should be addressed their strength might be in their starting itching who are still at spring training pitch counts.

24. Fargo(26)- CF Nicky Stewart and SS Paul Marata are both hitting well over their heads in the ML. Both should rocket down to earth and settle into sub .300 Batting averages with little power.

25. Milwaukee(20)- league's worst fielding team (.965), it would not be so bad if the bats were making up for the errors in the field.

26. Baltimore(22)- 7-3 in division 1-4 outside of it.

27. Vancouver(25)- LF Rafael Molina is batting .121 for the season which sort of negates his good speed.

28. Pittsburgh(30)- 0/12 in stopping stolen base attempts worse when you look that the opponents include Milwaukee for 6 games who has attempted no stolen bases this season.

29. Durham(32)- P Horace Walton is off to a horrible start featuring a 16.40 ERA in mixed duties for Durham. He should rebound and find his place, but Durham can't wait to long.

30. Monterrey(28)- signs of a bad team, you have been in 3 save situations all season and have blown all 3. Team always has the future.

31. Atlanta(31)- batting .200 as a team

32. St. Louis(27)- 1 strikeout every 5 at bats as a team
