2	68	Pep Dransfeldt	RP	18	HS	MILB	$550K	Solid 3 pitch reliever with great splits and control, He will be a stable in the bullpen for many years when he develops.
3	100	Will Gibbons	RP	18	HS	MILB	$425K	Another solid reliever with 3 plus pitches, Control will be an issue but he could get by on his superior splits and pitches. His stamina also is below average for an everyday reliever. He will be a ML some day
4	132	Ronnie Paul	P	22	COL	---	---	NOT SCOUTED
5	164	Jonathan Dean	CF	20	JC	MILB	$250K	Slightly above average hitter with good speed and base running. He has a poor batting eye and below average splits. Defensively he might be better at 2B

 

Summary: A couple great relievers and 1 dominant hitter. CSP did overlook their need at CF though and they will have to look to that position in the draft in S10.

2	75	Harold Johnson	SS	18	HS	MILB	$550K	Defensive minded player who isn't quite good enough at SS but could cover almost everywhere else. He has no batting prowess and average speed. He's not going very far in baseball.
3	107	Juan Ortiz	SP	20	JC	MILB	$425K	Ortiz is strong against left handed batters but below average against righties, He has good control and 1 good pitch to overshadow his 3 average pitches. He will struggle in the Big Show.
4	139	Sarma Corbin	SP	19	JC	MILB	$350K	4 pitch career minor leaguer his splits do not warrant ML consideration.
5	171	Lawrence Greer	3B	21	COL	MILB	$250K	Power hitting right half platoon. He has very poor vision and next to no speed or baseball understanding. Very raw power and that's it.

 

Summary: the Surf needed to upgrade pitching and they reached way to far to do it. The only true Mler in the bunch is Nation and he could have been had lower in the order, No positional help was procured. This is a draft that the Surf will want back.

1	40	Wilt Street	RF	18	HS	---	---	Solid 1B with plus strength and speed. He could be a masher if he signs. He is considering college over the pros. He has all the tools to succeed in Cheyenne except he's the wrong position.
2	70	Ralph Terry	RF	18	HS	MILB	$550K	Power hitting left who will struggle if not platoon. He has great speed and good fielding, just won't hit so well against the southpaws.
3	102	Vic Velandia	3B	18	HS	MILB	$425K	Slow developing above average hitter. He will find a home in the corner outfield but he is more of a stopgap type of hitter and not a full fledge career starter. May never reach his potential.
4	134	Mark Casanova	LF	18	HS	---	---	NOT SCOUTED
5	166	Kenny Tabaka	P	20	JC	MILB	$250K	Career minor league starter could see major league action if he subscribes to the MLB Package on his dish network.

Summary: Picked up a lot of players in a position they already have an extremely talented MLer. I can only assume trade bait for the A. They need to correct this logjam and add depth at 3B and catcher soon or the farm will be in trouble.

Omaha MILE HIGH CLUB

2	53	Elston Gentry	CF	20	JC	MILB	550k	Better suited for 2B, Gentry is a power hitter with a natural swing. He also sports plus speed and a good understanding of the game; He is a classic #2 batter.
3	85	Douglas Moore	P	21	COL	MILB	425K	Below average pitches matched with below average splits, Moore is not getting out of the minors anytime soon.
4	117	Andy Lush	P	21	COL	MILB	350K	Didn't I just review Moore? Same guy different name
5	149	Michael Riley	RF	20	JC	MILB	250K	Left hand hitting specialist he has good power and base running to compliment his speed. Riley is a great 5th round find

 

Summary: Got the SS they needed and added pitching depth to the minors. The Mile Highers still have a need at SP and C to look to fill, but overall they succeeded in getting a number of quality bats to add and refurbish their arsenal.
